In this article, I talk about how to be a vegetarian, easily.
Have you ever found yourself choosing fish over meat? Have you heard about how a more vegetable-orientated diet can bring health benefits? Do you sometimes feel concerned about the conditions in which animals are kept? Are you concerned about the increasing price of meat?
These are all thoughts and stages that many of us go through when moving towards being a vegetarian. I use the phrase “moving towards” because in my opinion it’s important to become a vegetarian at your own pace.

You don’t need butter or flour to make soup thick and creamy. Instead, stir in a cupful of rolled oats or quick oats, and cook for 20 minutes or more. Then whirl a hand blender in the pot to make the soup smooth and extra creamy. Try this in the delicious recipes below, or invent your own.
Incredible Creamy Clam Chowder
1 large onion, chopped
6 cups bouillon
1 medium cauliflower, cut in chunks
1 cup quick-cooking or rolled oats
1 teaspoon oregano
pinch cayenne, or to taste
1 6.5-ounce can chopped clams, undrained
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Choosing the best blender for your budget
Again, when making a whole food Health Smoothie, DO NOT use a juicer, use a BLENDER! The best blender to use for a whole food Smoothie is a Vitamix, Bosch or K-tech. They are high-quality blenders and they come with a large container that can hold up to 60 ounces. They have a strong motor that lasts for years and save time because they quickly liquefy the mixture of vegetables, hard carrots, fruit and supplements. A high-power blender has a strong enough motor to actually blend and retain the fiber.
These high-quality blenders are investments in the $430 range, and the savings created by using a blender instead of a juicer are enormous when you consider the fact that no food volume is wasted, not to mention the decrease in health care costs which will be created by your new levels of health and energy.

Eating a healthy dessert doesn’t have to break the bank. While it’s true that Twinkies and Ding-Dongs do cost less (in dollars) than quality healthy foods, the cost to our health is truly frightening!
Follow these tips for low-cost healthy desserts:
1) Try fruit! Full of natural sugars, and naturally fat free, fruit is a great dessert choice! Fresh kiwi, apples, pears, plums and oranges can all be found for about 50 cents per serving.
2) Fat-free pudding costs only 79 cents per box and is quite low in calories!

Potato salads are not just for picnics! They’re good year-round, and the variations are endless. Try adding chunks of red-skinned potatoes to just about any tossed salad recipe, or make your own versions of my recipes by adding any other ingredients you like.
I never peel potatoes for salads. The skins of the red ones are pretty in a salad and if you throw them away, you waste their fiber. Just scrub the potatoes with a plastic scouring pad.

Fish is one of the best foods for you, and has even been approved by the American Heart Association as being part of a healthy heart diet. There are more varieties of seafood than any other class of food. Tastes in seafood vary from the strong pungent taste of the English Kipper to the delicate taste of Alaskan crab. There is something for everyone, and comes with lots of health benefits:
1. Fish is high in protein. Protein is essential for maintaining and building muscle. Protein helps your body repair damaged muscle and aids you in developing muscle. It is good for those involved with bodybuilding, muscle strengthening and lots of aerobic exercise.
